WAYS TO HELP

  • Sign the Petition to Stop the Anti-Refugee Laws

We believe that people seeking protection from war and persecution should be welcomed and that everyone’s claim for asylum should be treated equally and fairly. Join us in standing against the Refugee Ban Bill and sign the pledge to fight the #AntiRefugeeLaws.

  • Speak Up for Sanctuary!

Our Friends at City of Sanctuary UK have created a handbook to support you to recognise your power in making change, to speak up for refugee rights and to supercharge efforts to build welcoming and compassionate communities. From ideas on how to start conversations to running events and meeting with MPs, this is a brilliant resource to get you started.

  • Host a Collective Poem Workshop

In need of some creative inspiration for your group or organisation? Look no further! All based around a particular theme - hope, home, community, food, the future (really anything you can think of) - we offer interactive workshops that’ll help bring your team together in the name of poetry. International corporates to local schools, we’ve taken our collective poem package to Geneva Peace Week, Greenside Primary and Creating the Future with Weatherbys Bank. Prices on request.

  • Host a Kite-Making and Flying Workshop

After the success of Fly With Me, we’ve seen the sheer joy of making and flying Afghan kites first hand. Why not liven up a national conference, local festival or team-building event with traditional Afghan kites! Led by one of our master kite makers, learn more about Afghan culture and stand in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan still fighting for freedom. Prices on request.

  • Create Your Own Fundraiser

Our vital work is possible thanks to people like you who host events, take up challenges or get their school or community involved to raise funds. There are many ways to get involved and we’re here to support you on every step - check out some examples of events and other ideas.

  • Buy Art Created by Displaced Artists

In our online shop you can treat yourself or friends and family to stunning world-spanning poetry, music from Zimbabwe and Sudan, playtexts and more, all supporting the work of Good Chance and displaced artists.

  • Leave a Legacy

Many people think a legacy in a will has to be a large sum, but whatever the size it can have a transformative effect. By remembering Good Chance in your will, you can ensure your commitment to changing the lives of people who have been displaced.

“I have not smiled, I have not laughed for eight years. Now I have come to Good Chance I can laugh. I can be happy.”
