Yellow: A Short Film by Elham Ehsas

We’re so thrilled to have collaborated with Elham Ehsas, an incredible filmmaker and long term friend and collaborator of Good Chance on his new BAFTA Nominated and Oscar Shortlisted short film Yellow. Filmed in Afghanistan and the UK, Yellow was screened worldwide as part of over 40 short film festivals.

In Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Laili walks into a Chadari store in Kabul to buy her first full body veil from a Talib shopkeeper and face her uncertain future…

In response to what has been taking place in his country for the past two years, Elham Ehsas - co-creator of Fly With Me and original member of The Jungle cast - has made a new short film, Yellow.

We are absolutely thrilled to have supported the creation of this moving and beautifully profound film, produced by our Creative Producer Dina Mousawi.

About Elham

Elham Ehsas is an award-winning writer and director, based between Kabul and London. His work in film and TV is characterised by its stylish, cinematic approach and thought-provoking storytelling.

As a refugee who fled the Taliban at the age of 10, Elham has developed a style for telling rich ethnic-driven stories that are not often seen on our screens and his work often explores themes of culture, identity, and home.

Elham's debut short film, Our Kind of Love was BAFTA long-listed in 2019 and has been screened at festivals worldwide. The film has garnered over 3.1 million views on YouTube to date.

Elham is part of BAFTA Connect, a prestigious three-year mentorship scheme by BAFTA. He was also part of the 2023 cohort for Zurich Film Academy.

In addition to his work as a writer and director, Elham is also an accomplished actor. He made his acting debut in the internationally acclaimed film The Kite Runner and has since appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including Brad Pitt's War Machine, Netflix's Young Wallander and the final season of Showtime's Homeland. He has also performed on stage in the Young Vic, West End and New York productions of The Jungle. Elham will next be seen in Shantaram and the second season of Little America, both for Apple TV.
