The Weight of Feathers: A Poetry Anthology by New Writers from Around the World

The Weight of Feathers, in the words of Change the Word poet Majid Adin, is full of poems that ‘let spirits speak’ to each other. They create a polyphony of voices that speak of journeys from home and journeys to new discovery. They speak of journeys into motherhood, into new love and new friendship, into finding a new kind of community in surprising places.

These poems are of resilience and hope – the themes the Collective felt most defined how they felt about the times we have lived through. Written by poets from over 14 countries, all part of the Change the Word collective who have made the UK their home, their voices individually and collectively weave together simple observations of the world around us to show how we can find inspiration and commonality in the small, precious details that make up a life.
