WORK WITH US

Applied Theatre Practitioner

Good Chance is recruiting an Applied Theatre Practitioner for our next Hope Show production co-created with people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds. We are looking for an individual with experience, energy and enthusiasm, who is great with people and eager to share their skills and knowledge. Creativity and kindness is at the heart of this project, so we’re seeking a practitioner who can inspire community members and support them in shaping and sharing their stories through a collaborative artistic process culminating in a series of artistically ambitious performances.

We are looking for someone who has experience in facilitation and the arts with a strong focus on Applied Theatre, and is based in London.

Good Chance is developing this Hope Show in partnership with a London-based LGBTQIA+ support organisation, expanding the model through the lens of queer cabaret: a vibrant, intimate and unapologetically joyful evening created in collaboration with LGBTQIA+ people from refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant communities. Developed through a series of safe, trauma-informed creative workshops led by Good Chance’s Deputy Artistic Director, Elias Matar, the production will blend storytelling, live music, drag, movement, comedy and devised theatre into an evening of collective celebration and resistance.

The Hope Show will consist of at least twelve 2-hour weekly workshops on Thursdays with occasional weekend work, plus intensive rehearsals over the final two weeks, culminating in a series of performances. There will be some additional prep work required outside of the workshop timeslots, hours to be discussed. Facilitators must be available for the full workshop cycle and performance week/s.

London Fee: £144 per day, paid pro rata based on total working hours throughout August - November 2026.
