Exploring Outdoor Theatre with Kneehigh

Last week our Artistic Directors Joe and Joe and two brilliant Good Chance Ensemble artists Girum Bekele and Mohamed Sarrar, visited our friends at Kneehigh to be a part of a socially distant theatre workshop and sharings in the open, bracing air of the Cornish Coast. We worked outdoors, under marquees and in fields around the beautiful Kneehigh barns, using short stories by Italo Calvino as the inspiration to play, experiment and create. We wrote, drummed, sang, danced and juggled flaming devil sticks. After so long apart, we learnt what it meant to work together again, to share the same space, and see one another eye to eye. We were warmed and guided by friends and firelight, illuminating a path through the darkness... We remembered there is hope!
