The Joy of Giving

Here at Good Chance, we believe in the joy of giving.

However much you can give, big or small - your support can help us create significant, joyful experiences for people who need them the most.

We’re proud to be a lean organisation with a small dedicated team, so you know your donation goes directly to support our work empowering refugee artists with important things to say.

This year, as we ask you to give a Good Chance, we’re able to match-fund up to £10,000 of all donations that come through our Big Give Christmas Challenge page between midday 3rd December and midday 10th December.

What money can’t buy, your donations can! Give to Good Chance and you:

Give Community
As Fitwi, one of our participants, said: “We are a family, being attached to each other is the most important thing so now we must stay as a family. What an amazing group of people.”

Give Creativity
We’re currently working in Sheffield with our Change the Word group, who are learning to write poems about memory, place and identity - and who’ll perform in the Good Chance Dome in February next year. We’ve got so many plans for more creativity projects in 2020 in the UK and internationally!

Give Confidence
One of our participants, Tiur, put it perfectly: “The performance boost our confidence. The audience that I saw is not just the audience I normally see, and they might think ‘oh I can do like that too’.”

Give Skills
From team building to carpentry, puppetry and poetry through to Afghan kite flying and Sudanese drumming, there’s something to learn at every step of the way. Your gift goes to build the skills of all our artists and participants.

Give Stories
Whether it’s the stories told in the Good Chance Dome first hand by people with lived experience, or the stories we share on the international stage through our Productions, we’re all about telling the human story behind today’s most urgent issues.

Give Voice
Messi puts it best: “I enjoy hearing the different voice, different story. For me, it was a big thing to write something because it was my first time to do.”

Give Hope
Yousef has the final word: “The refugee who sits alone, he does not just need food, or some materials, he needs also hope. Good Chance Theatre gives hope. You need to feel you are not alone, you need to feel someone sits beside you, he cares about you.”
