Welcome to our programme for young people

Good Chance are offering part-time, flexible work experience for young people from refugee backgrounds starting middle of October 2019 at our London office.

You can come to our offices for three months at a time to learn new skills, get involved in artistic projects, meet new people and improve your English.

This is a paid opportunity open to young people aged 17 to 24.


 

What is Stage Door?

A young person is being offered an opportunity with Good Chance to do paid work, learn new skills and meet new people.

Each apprenticeship will be based at the Good Chance offices in Covent Garden. We are looking to employ a young person to start for three months beginning October 2019.

AS PART OF STAGE DOOR YOU WILL:

  • Gain essential skills

  • Earn a wage at London Living for those with refugee status or be paid expenses to volunteer for those currently without the right to work

  • Meet new people and gain experience of working in an office

  • Work alongside experienced staff

  • Be encouraged to create and lead on a project, with the support of Good Chance staff

HOW LONG WILL THE WORK EXPERIENCE LAST?

  • You will work part-time, dependent on your schedule, for three months

WHERE WILL I WORK?

  • You will be based at the Good Chance offices in Covent Garden

 

WHO IS STAGE DOOR FOR?

The paid work experience is particularly aimed at young people from refugee backgrounds aged 17 - 24. If you don’t have the right to work at the moment, you can still apply and Good Chance will reimburse your expenses as a volunteer.

WHO WE ARE ENCOURAGING TO APPLY

Eligibility for the Stage Door programme at Good Chance isn’t based on having specific experience in theatre, the creative industry or with a charity. Instead, you’ll need to prove a commitment to learning and an excitement about getting involved with different tasks and activities.

CRITERIA FOR APPLYING

  • Be living in the Greater London area

  • Be between the ages of 17 and 24

  • Have basic experience of using IT and Microsoft Office

  • Have a working level of English
