If you love storytelling, want to develop your poetry skills, want to share stories, want to meet people from across the city - then join Change the Word.
Be part of the Change the Word collective. The first project will run with two sets of five workshops on poetry, storytelling and performance, led by expert writers and performers. Discover the city in unexpected new ways, meet new people and express yourself.
Change the Word Coventry runs from March - June 2019.
The programme encourages participation from refugees and migrants, as well as being open to people from other backgrounds.
You are welcome to write and perform in your own language - we just ask that you have conversational English to be able to take part in workshops in simple English.
Showcase your work during Refugee Week (17 - 21 June 2019) - members of Change the Word will perform in unusual places around Coventry, sparking creativity and spreading poetry throughout the city.
There will also be the chance to be published, to be part of a collective poetry film and more future opportunities.
We’ll bring dishes from different countries to the workshops, and have the chance to write and perform in each other’s homes. Change the Word is a way of coming together, through shared passions, through creativity, through food, through humanity.
Change the Word is run in partnership with Coventry City of Culture.
