HOPE SHOW BOAT SHOW
Good Chance Paris presents a Hope Show like no other. A floating theatre, for one night only.
This summer, we’ve been making new friends in our domes at Jean Quarré CHU, working alongside refugees and migrants living in the Paris area, and international and local artists, to create an ambitious and surprising artistic programme in which no two weeks are the same. The theatre has been home to moments of incredible invention and celebration.
At the same time, the canals of Paris have been the reluctant, temporary home of thousands of migrants and refugees over recent months, with tents and small encampments growing on the banks. Following clearances by authorities in the last few weeks, the tents have been cleared, but the problem has not. Whilst the issue of homelessness in newly arrived communities is less visible, it is still a reality for so many.
In response to this, Good Chance will soon bring our new work down the canals. With audiences watching on from the banks of the canals, we’ll be filling the bright and beautiful barge, “Le Barboteur”, with all the theatre, dance, stories, poems, songs, drawings, photos, films and wild creations born over the last few weeks.
This will be a show about who lives in Paris, by friends who have recently arrived in Paris, floating straight into the heart of Paris.
Join us to turn this into a real night of hope.
